Gabriel's Story
Gabriel was diagnosed with a brain tumor after complaining of double vision. He had a 9 hour surgery to remove the tumor. As the result of surgery he lost his ability to walk, eat, talk and he also developed hydrocephalus. He had another brain surgery to have a shunt placed to control the fluid in his brain. He underwent 32 radiation sessions and is currently receiving chemo. His speech came back after 2 long months of silence. He is not able to walk by himself yet and his right side is weaker than his left. He is doing physical therapy and has a long road to recovery. He was in the hospital for 3 months following brain surgery and missed half of the school year, but he has never given up.
