Ian's Story

Ian has fought Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for 7 years now. He was first diagnosed just before his 1st birthday, and has relapsed twice ... in April 2012 and December 2013. On May 1, 2014, Ian had his second bone marrow transplant from an anonymous donor and we have seen clear blood work ever since then. He had a hard time after transplant bringing his immune system back up and has battled Adenovirus and Epstein Barr Virus. He has spent a lot more time in the hospital dealing with those. He has started going to clinic every three months now and in May, he will go off his anti-rejection medications completely. He is hoping to be cleared to go back to regular school this fall. He still tires quite easily and from time to time he struggles with his appetite.
THANK YOU:

Thank you so much for the beautifully stitched quilt. It is certainly the favorite one here! It was an incredible blessing to see the joy on Ian’s face when he opened the box, inspected every single square, identified each dog and put the knowledge of the breed to his memory of dogs we have or have known.  Ian absolutely loves his Love Quilt, he has slept with it every single night and drags it through the house with him to snuggle with while he does school work or plays games. This quilt will definitely get a lot of use through the years and be cherished forever. And of course, our favorite square is the Jack Russell that resembles our dog, Thor.  Thank you again so much for this beautiful, memorable, meaningful quilt.
