Zade's Story
Zade had stopped moving drastically in utero and after many
calls to my doctor and several visits to hospital, Zade was born wrapped
in my umbilical cord so many times, that
it compromised his airway. After being at the hospital for 6 weeks, Zade
aspirated one too many times and was sent to Seattle Children's Hospital.
After a tracheostomy, he also received a G-Tube for feeding.
At 3 months to the day, we were allowed to go home with much
training and 16 hours a day of "in home" health care to help manage the
complex
medical issues that Zade has...he is on room air with a warm mist to keep
secretions moist and must be suctioned as Zade still can't manage his
own airway or hold his own head up. He is pretty tight in his extremities
and
other parts are so low tone he can't even reach out and grab for anything as
of yet.
